My term 2 A.P.S sport!

the Volleyball

This term (term 2) I’m playing VOLLEYBALL🏐!!! Volleyball is so intense! You have to try and get the ball over the net or over to a teammate so they can get it over the net!

There are 3 different ways to get the ball over the net.

  1. The ‘Spike’ When you come close to the net and use one hand to hit it over the net.
  2. The ‘Set’ When you use both hands to push the ball into the air so one of your teammates can get  it over.
  3. And the ‘Dig’ The dig is hard to master but when you get it, it’s easy! You hit the ball with your forearm to get it over. Here is a picture of how to dig.

So far my team have won all our games. In Volleyball you can’t be afraid to use your voice to call for the ball. If you don’t, you could end up in a collision. You always have to be paying attention and making sure you know where your teammates are and where the ball is.

If you ask me what I need to work on, I would say my serving and digging. I really need to make my serves deeper (more into the oppositions court) so we don’t loose that point. With my digging I think I just need to be more confident.

Volleyball is a fun sport for all. Even if you have never played it before you will love it! Give it a try and tell me what you think. See ya!

What is your favourite sport?

My first term

So far so good!

My first term has been so jam packed! I’ve already learnt so much. For example, on my maths pre test I only got a score of 4, but on my post test I got 16.5! I have got so much better at my times tables and my self confidence. I now know that 6×9=54 and that 7×6=42. Thank you to my maths teacher for helping me improve my maths skills.

My goals for next term are to really memorise all of my times tables and to try my best at everything. (In saying that I mean not getting too distracted.) I also want to really try to improve my spelling and grammar. It’s really hard to believe that one day I will know my times tables off by heart.

I had to use a lot of resilience and courage to push myself forward and keep on going. At moments when I felt I would never do it or when I felt like it had been an hour when it had only been 5 minutes, I kept on going and got an amazing result. All of my teachers have been so supportive especially my spelling mastery teacher, my maths teacher and my class room teacher.

This year I started Bell Canto and APS. In my all about me (which is on my blog already) I mentioned that I’m in an auditioned choir. But with Bel Canto anyone can come and sing. APS is when we train in a particular sport and then we compete. Next term (Term 2) I’m going to be doing Volleyball. When I was in the Greek islands last year me, my sister and 12 other kids all played Volleyball on the beach until our feet were burned! I have had so much fun this term and can’t wait until next term. See you soon!

What have you most liked this term at school?
